On the road to Sungai Lembing - View 1

On the way to Sungai Lembing, I stopped to admire and shoot what is usually known as a secondary tropical forest. Trying very hard with 35mm format to capture the forest in a manner similar to Ansell Adam image of Aspen trees.

Before the scraps thieves came to town

The slides show provides the glimpse of what the tin ore processing plant in Sungai Lembing used to look like. Locomotive heads with Hunslett mark, electrical generator that was known as English Electric and others which were specifically designed, fabricated and patented by the engineers, locally.

The locals were powerless, even though they tried very hard, to stop the scrappies that came from every corner of the country. Some even came from neighbouring countries. The authorities could not, or maybe did not, do anything to halt them. Now, the heritage is gone forever. What's left are these images only.

Compare these images which that you have seen below. They are at the same location. The only difference is that they are about two to three years apart.
